World Animal Day 2025

World Animal DAY 2025

On the 5th of October, we celebrated World Animal Day at the beautiful Sea Point Promenade — surrounded by like-minded animal lovers and organisations all doing incredible work for the animals who need us most.

It was a truly lovely day filled with community spirit, tail wags, smiles, and awareness.

A heartfelt thank you to Paws-A-While for once again organising this fun and meaningful event! It’s always great to have Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis and Mayoral Committee Member Alderman JP Smith in attendance, we are grateful for their encouragement, and unwavering support for animal welfare.

Together, we can keep changing lives and making a big difference!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers / fosters for bringing their foster animals as well as getting creative and making us stand out and rocking that parade.

ABOUT AFRICAN TAILS

Our Mission

We all know that many animals in South Africa face terrible hardships. This is caused by not only social and economic problems, but the over-breeding of pets. When there are simply not enough good and sustainable homes for these animals; it leads to suffering, cruelty and neglect.

GET INVOLVED

Your small contribution makes a huge difference and enables us
to continue the amazing work we do.

ADOPT

Adopting an animal will not change the world, but it will change THEIR world forever. Adopt, don’t shop!

FOSTER

Fostering is not a lifetime commitment,
but it is a commitment to saving a life.

VOLUNTEER

There are different ways to actively support Animal Welfare, and volunteering is one of them.

OUR SUPPAWTERS mean the world to us
