Section 18A certificates
Dear Donor
Our financial year ends on the 28th of Feb 2025 for the 2025 tax year. In the past, donors could request Section 18A tax certificates at their own leisure and submit the certificate themselves. However, since 2024 SARS has implemented new regulations. As the receiving Non Profit Organisation, we now have to e-file all certificates ourselves on the donor’s behalf and donors no longer submit them themselves. These certificates will auto-populate to your SARS account, similar to a medical aid tax certificate.
It is important to note as well, that SARS has now implemented a cut off for all NPO and PBO’s to submit these certificates, which is 31 May 2025 – for the 2025 Tax Year.
We now make use of a system, Active Donor, to automatically issue certificates and our accounting firm will e-file all certificates on your behalf.
It is important that you request your certificate before 30 April 2025 and that all your details are up to date. If certain details are not up to date, we will not be able to issue your certificate. The details we require are:
Full name and surname
ID Number
SARS number
Address
Tel Number
Amount donated (once off or monthly) and the date donated
The platform you use (direct debit, Secure Donations, Given Gain, Paysoft etc – if you know the platform)
In order to make sure all your details are up to date please email our office administrator Muriel, on admin@africantails.co.za
We thank you for your support, which enables us to change the lives of countless sentient beings who count on us. Without your support, we will not be able to assist these precious animals.

ABOUT AFRICAN TAILS
Our Mission
We all know that many animals in South Africa face terrible hardships. This is caused by not only social and economic problems, but the over-breeding of pets. When there are simply not enough good and sustainable homes for these animals; it leads to suffering, cruelty and neglect.
Our mission is to eradicate this suffering and neglect through targeted mass sterilisation campaigns.
