Local Sterilisation Drive – Brooklyn & surrounding areas – April 2026
87 lives changed in just 2 days.
This week during our local sterilisation drive, we sterilised a total of 87 animals belonging to pet owners who care, but simply couldn’t afford the procedure.
This entire initiative was made possible by a generous company in Montague Gardens who sponsored these sterilisations. Their commitment to animal welfare made this possible, and it cannot be overstated just how powerful that is. This is real, tangible change for both animals and the community.
We were also fortunate to receive support from PUMA who ordered and donated 23 large bags of dog and cat food through the Montego Cares initiative. This was truly life-changing for this local drive and will continue to make an impact beyond it. It meant every sterilised animal went home with some food, something that makes a world of difference.
A huge thank you to Dr Elizna & the Sterivet team for their dedication and hard work.
Beyond sterilisations, we were able to assist animals needing some extra care. Animals with skin conditions, providing extra parasite control, extra food. We also provided warm jerseys & kennels for a family of dogs living in the bush. Two of these dogs were already pregnant. Thanks to one of our dedicated Pet Warriors, they were safely brought in, cared for, and even given a place to recover. Small changes that mean everything.
Because of the high number of female dogs, we didn’t quite reach our goal of 100, but we’ll be continuing these sterilisations over the next 2 months.
None of this is possible without the support of businesses and individuals who believe in what we do. Thank you for being part of this journey.
